Family Book

Hello family! Man I am terrible at posting on this blog, but I love going back and reading all of your posts. Thank  you all for participating! I am writing to get your input on an idea I had a few weeks ago. I have all of a sudden become interested in learning more about our family's history and it got me thinking. We should make a book of our current family. I think it would be a great thing to give grandma and for us all to have for our children's children ya know?

Well here is my plan, let me know if you agree! I will bring my trusty camera to our Christmas party. I will take one big group picture of the whole Wright gang and then I will get individual family pics as quickly as possible. I don't want this to be an annoyance to anyone and I am not a photographer so it will just be a quick one click picture to show who is in the family. I realize not everyone will be able to be to the party so if you have anyone that can't make it, you can just email me the picture of them you would like in the book and I will include it. Also I will need names and birthdays of everyone in each family and who they've married and when etc. Pretty much whatever you would like to include in your family's section of the book.

I just think we have an amazing family and I want to preserve our own history! I will make this book into a hard copy and we will get one for Grandma, and a copy for each sibling, Gayleen, Shirley, Jackie, Hoke, Cindy, Kenny, and Mike. If anyone else wants a copy after that I will figure it out at that point. I just thought it would be awesome to have and be able to look at. And nowadays it is pretty simple to put one of these books together so why not take advantage of the technology.

Let me know what everyone thinks and please spread the word! If this sounds like something we want to do, I am up to the task!

Hope you all have an awesome Halloween!

Love you all,

Maggie

Jeez. . .

I have got to start paying attention and not hit the enter button before I finish the post!
I just wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Easter. . We had Jami & family, Riley & family and Maggie & family here for Easter and was able to Skype with Melissa and her family so we had a great Easter at the Braeggers. If any of you had a chance to read my blog on the Braegger Family Blog you seen that we had a rare visit from the Easter Bunny himself at our Braegger Family Easter breakfast. I noticed the Bunny ears as he hopped by the shop windows and by the time we all got outside he was hopping (more like galluping) down the fence line with his easter basket leaving colored eggs and candy for the little kids to find. I thought that Mike, Duane and Maggie were going to pee their pants they were laughing so hard. He kind of resembled Riley a little bit but who knows what Riley wold look like in a big Pink Bunny Suit. It was great!
We went up to Mom's to put her bagger on the back of the lawnmower so we spent a little bit of time visiting with her too. It was a great day. . .
Mike and Gayleen. . Hope that you guys had a great anniversary! You are awesome and we can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks (Loved the picture that you posted on facebook)
Lacey. . I heard rumor that you maybe found a house in Salt Lake. I am so excited for you. It is always fun to buy your first house. . .
Kenny . . . Looking forward to seeing you the end of June. I wish you could stay and go camping with us up to Alpine in July. . (See what you can do!)
Mike Wright. . How is the eye doing? I heard about your cute friend Stephanie and look forward to meeting her sometime!
Shirley told me the Nielsen family have a new addition (a cute little 3 lb puppy that is the cutest little thing ever. Woo-Hoo Emery I am so excited for you!
Cindy said that Cami & her family are coming to visit this summer so we will have to have a cookout and all get together when they come.

Riley and Jessica have started the new house in Mantua so if anyone is driving through they need to drive by and look at the progress being made. I think it is on Meadow Lane. If you drive past the churchhouse in Mantua (like you are going to the fish hatchery) you go to the last paved road (I think it is Meadow Lane) and head back to the north. It is the only new house being built on that road on the right side. The last I heard they were just getting ready to pour the cement floors and then the framing is going to start next week.

I had better get dinner fixed but wanted to post on the blog while I was thinking about it.
I love you all and am so glad that I have the family that I do. . .
Jackie

Happy Easter Eeveryone. . .

Hi all.  We had the best week last week.  Shirley came back with me on Sunday and stayed until the next Sunday.  While she was here, we gave her a tour of all the places we go when we take our walks with Missy.  On Wednesday we went to Fremont Street in Las Vegas to see all the interesting people who hang out there and so that Shirley could see the Fremont experience laser show.  Had a great time!!  Rudy came down on Thursday.  He left Brigham about 4:00 a.m and was here in time for us all to go to breakfast!!  Little Mike and his friend, Stephanie, came on Saturday.  We were all pretty good and didn't spend a lot of time in the casinos.  Just enough to spend a little money and feel like we were in Mesquite.  We mostly visited and caught up on what each other has been doing.  I know I have said it before, but we love to have people come and visit and we would like to invite any of you at any time.

Hope everyone is well!!  Love you all.

Wendover Trip

Hello all,

Just wanted to let everyone know how fun our "Wendover" trip was and to thank everyone who was able to make it.  We sure missed everyone who wasn't able to be there but hopefully they can make it on our next trip.  We had lots of fun with Mom, Gayleen, Jackie, Niki, Kim, Jami, Katie, Lisa, and Julie.  I'll tell you those younguns are crazy kids.  We "seasoned" ones (Mom, Gayleen, Jackie and me) really maintained on this trip.  I think we were in bed by 12:00 AM.  The younguns were up during all hours of the night.

Gayleen wasn't very nice when she arrived back in Mesquite yesterday.  She sent me a picture of what the sun looks like (we have had pretty crappy weather here except today - we also have the sun!!).  I am going to go to Mesquite this month and spend a week with Gayleen.  Who knows - maybe I will be able to get a taste of the "80's" while I am there.

We do have a great family and I am so thankful for Mom and Dad and the family values they installed in all of us while we were growing up.  I have had several people tell me that there are very few families that get along as good as we all do and I wholeheartedly agree.

Love you all,

Shirley

Hello from Nevada

I have been thinking about how I really need to be more diligent in posting on the blogs especially since I am far away from most of you (not really far away, but far enough to miss everybody).   I also wanted you all to know how blessed I feel to be a part of this wonderful family.  I wish everybody could be as lucky.  This blessing was apparent Monday when Mom, Shirley, Cindy and Jackie went to the hospital to be there for Mike when he had his eye surgery.  When I talked to him on the phone he said it wasn't necessary, but that he sure did appreciate it.  I want them to know that I also appreciate that they went.  It just shows that whenever anyone in the family needs anything, we will always be there.

Mike and I have been enjoying the mild weather here in Mesquite.  We keep ourselves busy going to the gym and taking Missy for walks everyday, doing a little golfing, and taking out the RZR for short trips.  Last weekend Mike's sister Louise and her husband Chuck came for the weekend and the weather actually cooperated so we could do a little golfing.  It sure is fun to have company and I would like to invite any of you to come anytime!!  Like Jacky mentioned, I am flying to SLC tomorrow to go with the Girls to celebrate Shirley's retirement.  It's gonna be a great time and will also give us a chance to celebrate Jami and Kim's birthdays.  Can't wait!!!

Hope everyone is doing well!!  Love you all.

A snowmobiler's Lament

Good day all of you Wright stuff people! What a great family to belong to! I was thinking back to the good old day's when I snowmobiled every weekend with either Mike Henderson, Dennis Crocker, Or good old Grampa Wright. How awesome was that! I really miss Grampa, when the snow is piling up. Of course this year there has not been much snow. We have only had the sleds out 2 times! Maybe it will be a snowy spring! Oh well, enough crying over lack of snow. Jackie is going in for eye surgery on Tuesday the 6th of March. It seems like the wright family is in the eye surgery business lately. Well, Mike & Gayleen, move over in the 60 year old + status, because you will soon have a new member! I distinctly remember when my dad turned 60, & it was just yesterday! Oh well, except for an ocasional ache or pain, it is all good. Well work call's! Yeah, (some of us are not retired yet)! Got to go. Love you all, Mike # 4.

It's about time!

Hi family. . .
Yesterday when we were sitting at the hospital while Mike was having his eye surgery I was thinking about how much I LOVE my Family and thought I should tell you all. I thought about calling everyone but realized that even tho I am retired I just don't have the time to do that.
(Really there is too many of us and due to my age I would probably miss someone or call someone twice as I tend to forget things I have already done) so the BLOG was the best way to do it. . .
I really do thank my lucky stars that I have the family that I do . . . Starting with Mom and Dad & right on down to little Berklee who is currently the last one we have added to the family. I can"t think of anything that makes my Heart as Happy as being able to spend time with each of you or hearing about all of the things that you are doing. (Thanks heavens for coffee on Wednesdays & Fridays so we can keep up with what is going on with everyone. . )
I know that we do not get a chance to be all together very often but when we do it is always so much fun and I love it. It is those times that I look forward too and hope that we have lots more of them.
Just talked to Mike and he said that his appt with the eye doctor went really well this morning and that he is feeling great. . . Isn't it amazing that we live in a time of organ donation and that Mike was able to receive a cornea from someone and his vision in that eye has been restored. I hope that all of you are organ donors and if not you need to be!
I am looking forward to Shirley's retirement get-away on Thursday! I wish everyone could come with as we always have such a good time together. Thanks Gayleen for making arrangements to fly up and come with! For those of you that cannot come know that you'll be missed and hope that you can come with next time!
Mom and Shirley and I are going to go to Clayton's funeral tomorrow. I can just imagine the reunion that Dad and Clayton are having right now and wouldn't be surprised if they have not already been fishing!

I had better get busy and get my house cleaned as I didn't get much done yesterday and Mondays are usually the day that I do my cleaning.

I love you all tons and hope that you have a good week!

Jackie

Hello Wright Family-
My mom has been bugging me to put some pictures on the blog and I figured I had better get it done while she is here. She can watch my kids while I make a post :) We are doing good in South Dakota. We are still waiting for our first big snowstorm of the season. We have not had enough snow to make a snowman yet and it is killing Mark and Lily. Berklee is doing really good. She is now 2 months old and is a great baby. She loves Grandma Braegger and is going to have a very difficult time adjusting once she has gone home. SAD!!! Mark is finishing up the season within the next few weeks. He is going to Costa Rica at the end of the month for 10 days with the team. Since he is going there Lily and I have tickets to go to Disney on Ice. I am so LUCKY!! Of course, it will probably snow then and he will miss out on the SNOWMAN :) Double LUCKY for me!! Well I have put a few pictures up and we hope all is well with everyone.

Love you guys!!
Melissa

Happy Birthday Brett!!

Hello All!  Well, today is Brett's 39th birthday (next year will be the big 40).  Wow, that makes me feel old.  Not sure what he has planned for tonight for his Birthday - but we will be celebrating at the Harding House on Feb 12th (our monthly birthday bash).  We  had a little bit of snow this morning - but if the rest of the winter is like this, I think I can handle it.  It makes a big difference that I don't have to drive to work in the weather anymore or in the dark.  Retirement is wonderful!!!  I received a phone call from Gayleen last night and she will be flying into Salt Lake to make the traditional "Girls Only - Wendover Retirement Pary" on March 1st.  I am excited and hope that we will have tons of fun!!  Hoping all of you are having a great day.  Love you all - Shirley

Gayleen and Mike

We are still in Mesquite and the weather is still awesome! Mike, Missy and I are enjoying our daily 2 mile walks soaking up the vitamin D. Yesterday I got a text message from Nikki which said that Sidney had a gymnastics competition in Evanston wy and that she took 1st on all events and 1st in all around!! Good job Sid! This weekend Mesquite is hosting a chili cook off and a car show. Mike and I went to the carshow and saw some awesome cars. We went to the chili cook off but got there too late to try the chili. Most of the competitors ran out of chili about one hour after it started. That's one thing I have to say about Mesquite residents, they really support the various activities that come to town. We are planning on going home to Corinne on Thursday so we can bundle up and go to Jackson Hole on Saturday to attend Mike's brother, Rex's wedding. What a change, huh? Nikki is going with us. It will be fun to spend time with her and we are looking forward to it. No other news to report, so I'll say bye for now. Love to you all!

WOW!

I must say, I am so impressed with you all!!! I thought I had better just check the blog to see if any posts had been made and was shocked to find so many! I absolutely love it. It is so much fun to read everyone's updates. Hilary, I don't know where to go camping, but I vote Kim makes her famous enchiladas because I have heard a lot about them and I think I need to try them. I don't really have much to update, but I was so proud of the family for all of the posts that I had to say something.

School just started for Keric and I, last semester for our Bachelors! We are so busy and barely see each other but it will be worth it! Keric has not really told many people yet, but he just got hired on at the Sports Radio station here in town as a board opp. He will get to do updates during the local sports games and host the post game shows! He is so great at it and this is a foot in the door for sure. We are thrilled. Of course that will be his second job on top of going to school full time so we will be strangers for a bit, but that is okay.

As my mom mentioned....Boston is a crazy kid and I struggle to keep up with him. He just started daycare yesterday while I go to school and he plays hard when he is there. It is so nice to have him tired and cuddly every now and then ;)

That is the Seegmiller update. I hope you all are doing well and I can't wait to see more updates!
I am adding some pictures from our trip. We didn't take many, but here are a few.

Shirley

Hello there..
As you all know - I am quite the computer genius - so hopefully this will work.  Birthday dinner for Grandma Grape was great on Sunday.  What a fun day.  We did have a household of Denver fans so we had to eat dinner with the game playing on the TV's (family room TV and kitchen TV).  What an exciting game..  It was good to see everyone that was here - Julies Tyler wasn't here (he was hunting) and Lisa was working.  But other than that - everyone else was here.  I am loving retirement.  I still feel like I am sluffing work - but hopefully I will get over that soon.  Thanks Maggie for creating this blog - I sure appreciate it.  Love you all - Shirley

Hello from South Dakota

I just checked my email for the first time in forever and joined this sweet blog. I thought I would make a short post to say hello to everyone. I am typing with one hand because little Berk is in my other hand. Berk has been spoiled by grandma Braegger so she likes to be held a lot. :) I would just like to make it known to everyone that the weather is beautiful here right now. I just got home from the library and it is currently 65 degrees outside. Everyone always thinks the weather is crap here but right now i am pretending we live in St. George or Mesquite :) Everyone have a great week!!

Melissa

- Little Mike : Can you tell me your address....I need to send you a Christmas card :)

-also side note to Hilary's camping comment....how about we have cousin campout in South Dakota.....any takers???? :) I have rented my house out for the Sturgis Motorcylcle Rally so I will be camping for one week. Everyone is welcome to join the Nore clan :)

Whoops!

Sorry for just the title on the last Blog entry. . My fat fingers hit the wrong buttons again and I published it before I finished the entry. .
We had a great weekend at the Braegger House too! Keric, Maggie & Boston (alias; The Octopus!) came up North. Boston would run from one thing to another with all of us chasing him as he grabbed and pulled anything within reach. He is the busiest 1 year old that I have ever seen. Like I said, he seemed to have 8 hands and I can see why Maggie and Keric have lost so much weight as he is non-stop go. . go.. go!
We started with a Pizza Bash on Thursday night with Jami & kids, Riley & Jess and kids, Keric, Maggie & kid (+ baby in the making) and Mike and I. Lots of laughs as always when we get together.
Maggie and I were able to go to the Salt Lake Temple on Friday for Sarah Stangers wedding (Maggies BFF from school) while Keric and Boston hung out at home. Later on Mike and I went to Penochle Club and all of the others went to Olive Garden for dinner. We had given them all gift cards for Christmas so they were thinking that it would be a cheap date for them. Everything was fine until the Seegmillers went to pay with their gift card and it had not been activated so they had to dig up money to pay for theirs. If that wasn't enough of a wrench in the works, Keric was pulled over by the Harrisville cops as he had a headlight out on his car. After a hectic evening everyone went to bed and Keric woke up at about 4:00 not feeling very well. He said it was not a good 12 hours of his life. . .
I was supposed to go and get a haircut on Saturday and could not get my car up the driveway due to the one and only snow storm that we have had since November. So the day did not start out too well for me either. Luckily things got better for all of us and we had a great after- Thanksgiving dinner that night. I was with the Nore's for Thanksgiving so this was my chance to celebrate with the rest of the family too. (who cares that it was 6 weeks later?) We missed the Nore's but are looking forward to seeing them when Landon graduates in June!! Mom came down to eat with us and was also looking forward to dinner at Rudy & Shirleys the next day!
Sunday was a pretty quiet day around our house after the Seegmillers left and it was nice to have a quick nap before the Big Game!! I loved it!
I had better get busy because the painter is coming on Wednesday to paint the kitchen and then we are going to try and get the floors finished on Saturday so the I can get everything back together before I leave for the Nore's on the 22nd. Life just keeps getting busier and busier.

Love you all and look forward to the posts and updates on the Blog! Be good and remember who you are!!
Jackie

Another weekend come and gone!

Thanks Maggie

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!
This is going to be really cool. Thanks Maggie for putting all of the effort into this. We all really appreciate it. I am excited to start using this however it is all new to me.

A quick update - The holidays were wonderful this year and we are now back in the swing of things. School for Emery, schedules, dance etc. Boy it sure was nice NOT having to be at a certain places at certain times however I guess that schedules and routines are good.

Yesterday we had our monthly lunch with the family at Shirley & Rudy's. It was great to see everyone and Thank you Marilyn for requesting Chicken Enchilada's!!!! They were delicious thanks to Shirley and Kim :) We were quite a rowdy bunch of folks due to all of the Broncos Fans in the house !!!! At least we all agree on one thing - "GO BRONCOS"

We always have a great time getting together with everyone and look forward to next time.

Until Then - Hilary

P.S. - Braegger Kids
You are in charge of the Cousin Camping trip this year. We had previously talked about going south just wondering if there are any plans in the works yet?

Thanks

Thanks Maggie for setting this up. I just started Mike and my blog and it really is fun!! Now that we are down South, I am looking forward to having a good way to keep up on what everyone is doing since I don't get to go to coffee with my Mom and Sisters, so I don't get any news. We've been in Mesquite for a little more than a week and have been enjoying awesome weather in the mid 60's. We even went golfing in shorts and short sleeved shirts. Hope everybody posts soon. Love to you all!!

Is this thing working???/

I have been encouraged to try this blog out, sooooo, IS THIS THING WORKING!!!!???? If anyone can read this, please respond, and i will try to figure out how i got to this blog in the 1st place, & maybe read your response. I know there is a lot of you Wrights out there because I met you all at Christmas!!! Happy New Year!! Mike. The Buzz.

Woo Hoo. . I love this!

I am, so excited to be able to hear from everyone! Sometimes I think that I have shared all of the news in my family and someone in the Wright family will say, "You didn't tell me that!" So all of you that are wondering what is going on with us just look on the Blog! Maggie is great to keep us all in line!
Mike and I went snowmobiling last week up to Bear lake (not much snow but fun just the same)
The weather was really warm so it was not such a big deal to get all of the warm gear on and we were limited to the trails mostly but it was nice just to get away from it all.
Our friends the Holmes Family were there with all of their kids and grandkids so if we lacked for conversation or lots of noise we just wandered over to their condo and then went back to our condo when we needed some peace and quiet. .
We are still trying to get all of the house put back together after the Great Flood of 2011. . Just when I think we are put away I find another box of stuff to go thru and have made numerous trips to the D.I. and pawned alot of stuff off on to Jami. . .
I have it in my mind that we need to paint and lay wood floors in the kitchen now so been talkin it up to Buzz and hope that he will do it while I am at Melissa's the end of January. (If I bug Riley enough about it he will convince Buzz that they need to do it just to make me happy. . . You know the saying "When Mom is Happy everyone is Happy! " and that really pertains at my house!
It was so good to see everyone at Christmas and I know that Mom was the most excited of all of us. She seemed to be pretty emotional and said that this is the best Christmas that she has had since Dad passed away! Thanks everyone for taking time out of your busy schedules to take time and celebrate with us! Those of you that were not there you were missed and we hope to see you next year!
I had better get busy and get the rest of my laundry done and hope to see lots of post's o the Blog from you all!

Love you all tons!
Jackie

Welcome!

Hello everyone! I am excited to start this blog to get our family a little closer. It is always so much fun to get together in person when we can, but with our family so big we can't always do that. So this is a great way to stay caught up on what everyone is up to! So for those of you that are new to the blogging world, welcome! It is pretty simple to learn. The best posts are the ones with pictures, but sometimes it is easier to just write, which is also great. I am a total HOUND about my family posting on the Braegger blog so if this blog seems dead, don't be surprised when you get an email strongly encouraging you to 'git er dunn' and update! I will also be putting links to individual family blogs that you can all go visit, so if you have one and want me to link it, let me know! I am so excited for this and I really hope it doesn't end up just being me, posting lame updates on my life every week (I have my own blog for that). Love you all and hope you are doing well!

PS-spread the word to everyone in the family!
